Can you still withdraw a delisted coin? Notice periods, withdrawal windows and leftover balances

A delisting can leave time to withdraw, but there is no universal deadline. Compare the suspension dates, withdrawal windows and treatment of leftover balances in four platforms' published notices.

You may still be able to withdraw, if that asset's withdrawal window remains open. Binance, OKX, Bybit and Kraken describe a withdrawal period or publish an asset-specific deadline; check the notice for your coin and network.

So the useful questions are narrower. How many weeks does the window run? How much warning comes before trading ends? And once the deadline passes, does the leftover come back as a stablecoin, get sold at whatever the market pays, or simply disappear? On one platform's own help page, a coin that cannot be sold ends up valued at zero.

Trading pair or token delisting: check which service is ending

Binance's delisting FAQ distinguishes a pair removal from a token delisting. Removing one spot or margin pair does not itself remove support for the token; other available pairs can remain. A token delisting removes the asset from Binance products and services. Even a pair removal can affect orders or bots on that pair, so check those arrangements as well as withdrawals.

A headline alone may not tell you which services are ending. OKX's 26 May 2026 MAJOR and J notice names spot trading pairs in its title, but also sets deposit and withdrawal suspension dates. Read the affected assets and each service deadline together before deciding what you need to move.

The four dates inside a delisting notice

Deposit and trading suspensions can coincide, and a separate liquidation period may follow the withdrawal deadline. These two 2026 notices show why each date needs its own entry.

Both notices were opened and read in 2026-10. OKX states that the availability of coins and services may vary by region.

Remaining balanceNot addressed in this noticeForced liquidation, 1–12 February 2027

OKX's deposit suspension and publication fall on the same calendar date. The notice does not establish an earlier warning interval. Do not assume there is time for another deposit: a transfer arriving after deposits close may not be credited normally, and recovery is not assured.

As of 17 October 2026, Kraken's 23 October suspension is still scheduled. From that trading cutoff (23 October, 14:00 UTC) to the withdrawal cutoff (29 January 2027, 15:00 UTC) is 98 days and one hour. Its August notice sets 11 September, 14:00 UTC to 10 December, 15:00 UTC: 90 days and one hour. For OKX, the start of the final pair-removal interval (5 June, 08:00 UTC) to 26 August, 08:00 UTC is 82 days.

How long is the withdrawal window after a delisting?

Binance's standing FAQ describes a usual withdrawal cutoff two months after the token is delisted, while allowing the actual suspension time to vary. Use that asset's dated announcement to confirm your deadline.

The English edition of Binance's delisting FAQ showed an update date of 2026-06-10 when we captured it in October 2026, and the two-month withdrawal rule sits further down the same page under the question on what happens to delisted assets.

Bybit's Spot Delisting Mechanism page (marked as updated 2026-09-14) promises a buffer period before withdrawals stop but gives no length, and reserves the right to change or cancel a delisting without prior notice. OKX and Kraken publish a fresh withdrawal date in each notice. Read “two months” as Binance's usual practice and nothing wider: on another platform, or even on Binance's next delisting, the date that binds you is the one printed in that notice.

What happens to delisted coins you never withdrew

  • Binance: after withdrawals close, delisted tokens may be converted into stablecoins on users' behalf, with the proceeds credited to their Binance accounts. The FAQ says users get advance notice of deadlines and any conversion options.
  • Bybit: if off-exchange liquidity allows, the balance is sold at market for its USDT equivalent and distributed pro rata to Unified Trading Accounts after trading fees, a process the page expects to take six months. Without enough liquidity nothing sells, the coin's value becomes zero and it drops out of the account view. Amounts under 0.01 USDT after conversion are not paid out.
  • Kraken: automatic forced liquidation a few days after the deadline. The October notice warns that proceeds may be significantly below recent reference prices and, in some cases, minimal or nil.
  • OKX: the MAJOR and J notice says nothing about the period after withdrawals end. It does say where the coins go once delisting completes: consolidated into the funding account, then visible under Assets > Untradable assets.

None of these notices promises the pre-delisting price. Kraken warns about limited or inactive markets and potentially minimal proceeds. Bybit expects its conversion process to take six months; that is an estimate, not a maximum waiting time or a guaranteed payout. Withdrawing inside the permitted window gives you custody of the tokens, but does not ensure you can sell them or choose the price.

Before you withdraw a delisted coin

The destination may be closing too

The receiving exchange may also be ending support. UXLINK appears in Kraken's October batch, and OKX published its own UXLINK delisting notice. Confirm the receiving exchange still accepts that coin on that network before sending it.

For a self-custody wallet, confirm it supports the network and lets you add the token by contract address. What you take on by holding coins yourself, against leaving them with a platform, is set out in the custodial versus self-custody trade-off table.

Coins tied up in open orders or bots cannot leave either. OKX's notice says unfilled orders on the affected pairs are cancelled automatically, which may take 1–3 working days, and that trading bots on those pairs close gradually between 07:00 and 08:00 UTC on delisting day; you can stop them before that scheduled shutdown, but your closing trades may still carry fees and slippage. After delisting, OKX also consolidates the assets into the funding account. Leave it until the last few days and you may find yourself waiting on that step.

Check the withdrawal fee, minimum request and available balance for the exact coin and network. The withdrawal fee lookup explains where to find the relevant row, and the withdrawal-cost guide explains network differences. A balance that cannot meet the withdrawal requirements may be impossible to move through the standard route; check any options stated in the delisting notice.

Last, the inbox. Binance says the notice usually arrives by email and published announcement; Kraken and OKX post their delisting schedules in the announcements sections of their help centres. If the email on your account is one you stopped checking years ago, or the platform's mail lands in spam, this is the kind of message you miss first.
